SENATE PRESIDENT LAWAN GBAJABIAMILA PROPOSED A BAN ON BUYING OF CARS FOR LAW MAKERS UNTIL 2023.
In a series of tweets, SERAP also urged the leadership of the National Assembly to suspend plans to renovate the National Assembly.
The body stressed that funds meant for these projects should be channeled towards improving Nigeria’s healthcare and educational system.
“BREAKING: Following reports today that Namibia has banned top politicians and government officials from buying new cars for the next 5 years, we’re calling on @DrAhmadLawan @femigbaja to urgently sponsor a joint resolution banning @nassnigeria from buying new cars until 2023.


"We’re also calling on them to suspend any plans to buy new cars and to renovate the National Assembly.
“The public funds derived from this initiative should be used to improve access to quality healthcare and education.
“This is one excellent idea to copy from abroad, ” SERAP".
