IGBO WOMEN TAKING OVER WORLD BANK

Igbo Women And The World Bank...newsbrokersng.blogspot.com

A question that has  been raised is "what's so special about this set of women".

As we all know, the Eastern part of Nigeria contains mainly the Igbos and this ethnic group is one of the largest in the country, Nigeria.

This tribe has always been known for hardwork and agility especially in the field of Economics, Business and Money. They often start as small petty traders leaving the east, to the big city Lagos where they find themselves and their ambitions. Oftentimes, they  become apprentice and on completion of their apprenticeship, set out to start their own mini trade and as such they become big business men.

Their women on the other hand, are very smart women and when they have the opportunity to be educated they excel excellently, the likes of, Chimamanda Adichie.

Also,in the banking world this women have made waves, the likes of Ngozi Okonjo-Iwala,Arune Oteh, Obiageli Eze Kewjil were appointed the seat of the Senior Vice President at the world Bank at one point.

Recently, 56 year old Sandie Okoro a British lawyer was appointed as a general counsel and Vice-president at the World Bank Group. She was previously a General Counsel at Barings Asset Management and head of legal at Schroders Investment Management International as the first British national and the first black woman to hold this role.

I think what's special about this women,is their hardwork, commitment to making a difference, intelligence and also their consistency on the part of success; is what has made them dynamic in a world full of men.

With no ethnical  discrimination;I salute every woman making a difference in her world. A big congratulations to you Ma. Sandie Okoro.
