DEATH TOLL IN KADUNA. CAUSE OF DEATHS LEAVES EVERYONE SHOCKED.
Inside Kaduna, the war is waxing sore against the virus in the same way it has subdued the masses. No government in Nigeria since the wake of the prevailing order has matched the scourge with wits and forthrightness as Kaduna State.
To his credit, the governor, Mallam Elrufai bagged yet another trophy to his hugely furnished crest as a transparent warrior in the battle against the vague plague whose existence in Nigeria is becoming more of fiction than reality in its ensuing transfiguration.
As a way of defending his trophy, the governor ransacked market stalls, driving aged and indigent market women to the fields to sell their wares.
Under scorching heat from the sun and harsh weather conditions, the sole administrator yanked bread from the mouth of his already impoverished and battered subjects. In the dugout, now Kaduna, soldiers have been empowered to whip market women who derail in lining up at Elrufai's new open market.
They must empty their stalls under very stringent conditions to the fields and pose for snap shots as they remain under the scorching sun and when it rains the frustration mounts up for perplexed traders coerced to do the bidding of their ovation crazed ruler.
Despite receiving huge sums for his transparent warfare, the governor never deemed it human to cushion with palliatives. Except for Wednesday and Saturdays where the curfew is relaxed for a few hours, the state is running on a spree of another 30 days lockdown which is likely to be extended given the geometric rise of cases in Kaduna.
Despite the hardship imposed by the curfew, terrorism is thriving with bloody headlines of terror herdsmen ransacking villages and killing many in their vicious plunder.
While the state government is obsessed with the duty of safeguarding public health against the backdrop of resurgent marauding terror activities, the double standard surrounding the coronavirus resistance has evolved into a plague of tyranny..
