THE HEIGHT OF WICKEDNESS AMONG YOUTHS TODAY.

THE HEIGHT OF WICKEDNESS

This is one of such instances that would make you wonder if everybody we see on the streets are normal humans. And if they are where then is our humanity?

How else would one rationalize a crime and act of inhumanity of this proportion?

A young man in his early 20s Mr. Michael Ishaya, an Owerri resident, a native of Bogoro LGA of Bauchi State went to drop off a friend on the 3rd of April. On his way back he was ‘arrested’ by Military/Police Joint Taskforce but unknown to him it was a team of kidnappers. His alleged offense was breaching the curfew law in Imo State. The incident occurred around Orji Flyover in Owerri.

The same Army/Police Joint Taskforce had earlier ‘arrested’ another guy whom they forced to ‘bail’ himself with 50,000 which he transferred from his account to the account of one of them. It was the guy who bailed himself that told people whom he knows are acquainted to Michael that Michael was had been arrested.

Having waited for their friend, Michael to be released are to take his call all to no avail, some of his friends on Monday morning, went to the Imo state police headquarters to make their complaints. The command radioed every division in the state. 24 hours later no positive response was gotten. The matter was officially transferred to SARS with a matching order for immediate result.

Using the account number provided by the first guy who transferred 50,000 bailout money to the fully dressed military/Police men the guy who was earlier picked by the fully clothed military men which he used in making the N50,000, the SARS operatives were able to establish the identity of one of the kidnappers who turned out to be a serving military man. Through him his two other gang members were apprehended, with one being  a dismissed army man since 2018.

The arrested suspects confessed to the crime stating that the Michael has been murdered and corpse dumped at Oba in Anambra State. They confessed of hitting Mike’s head with a big stone after taking his iPhone, ES350 car, clothes, apple wristwatch, and emptying his account of all the money therein.

Yesterday, the police accompanied by Mike’s family, visited the crime scene where they recovered the body of Mike and thereafter, deposited it at FMC Mortuary Owerri.

Now, my anger is this - you have disposed this guy of his valuables why killing him?
